Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President (Joe Biden) met each other in a virtual meeting on Monday. During this, apart from the Ukraine crisis, the development of South Asia, the situation in the Indo-Pacific and bilateral cooperation were important issues of discussion. This virtual meeting took place before the fourth 2 + 2 talks between America and India (US-India) going to be held in Washington today. During the discussion with US President Biden, PM Modi said, "The subject of Ukraine has been discussed in detail in our Parliament. Recently, the news of the death of civilians in the city of Bucha, Ukraine, is worrying. We have condemned it and have raised the demand for a fair inquiry into the matter.''

I have spoken with Presidents of both Ukraine and Russia over telephone, several times. I not only appealed to them for peace but also suggested President Putin to hold direct talks with the Ukrainian President. Detailed discussions were held over Ukraine, in our Parliament says Prime Minister Modi, during a virtual meet with President Biden.

I am pleased to have this opportunity to speak to you virtually today and with two of your ministers and your ambassador. We take same concerns about the global challenges we faced during Covid-19, advancing health securities and tracking economic crisis says President Biden, during virtual interaction with Prime Minister Modi.

India-US now coordinates alongside each other across the Indo-Pacific region and we are committed to working seamlessly with India. I look forward to discussing how we can take further strengthen our partnership says US Secretary of Defense Lloyd J Austin III.

Meanwhile, speaking about the partnership between the two countries, President Joe Biden said, “We share a strong and growing major defence partnership." And responding to it Modi said, as world's two largest and oldest democracies, we are natural partners.

The United States and India are going to continue our close consultation and how to manage the stabilising effects of this Russian war. Our continued consultation and dialogue are key to ensuring US-Indian relationship continues to grow deep and strong says President Biden.
